Impacted Wisdom Teeth

Impacted Wisdom Teeth
20 yaş ve gömülü diş çekimiWisdom teeth are usually impacted due to their location within the jawbone and being covered with gum or bone. In cases where a part of the tooth is covered with gum, infection often occurs, resulting in facial swelling and a decrease in jaw opening.
As a result of repeated infections, the bone around wisdom teeth begins to melt and inflammatory tissue forms in its place. In addition, due to its position in the jawbone, it can sometimes put pressure on the molars in front of it, causing pain and crowding of the front teeth.

Extraction of wisdom teeth is usually done surgically, and swelling and pain may occur in this area after extraction. This occurs in the presence of bone tissue around the wisdom tooth.

Impacted Tooth Surgical Tooth Extraction
What is impacted tooth extraction?

Impacted tooth extraction usually occurs because wisdom teeth are a problem. Since the nutritional conditions of the first people were different, they also needed the teeth in the back, but over time, as the food changed to be easy to consume and softer, our jaw became smaller and there was no need for the wisdom teeth at the back. As our jaw gets smaller, wisdom teeth struggle to find space and do not emerge like other teeth. Wisdom teeth that cannot find space put pressure on the front tooth by pushing it. This pressure also causes distortion. The fact that they are too far back prevents the surrounding gum from having a normal anatomical structure and makes it easily inflamed.
Once the tooth to be extracted is divided into sections, it may need to be removed. In these cases, surgical extraction is performed. The procedure can be performed with local anesthesia, just like normal extraction.
