Implant Dental Implant

Implant Dental Implant
Implant - dental ImplantDental implants are generally titanium-based screw or root-shaped structures that are placed in the slot opened in the jaw bones to restore the function and aesthetics of one or more missing teeth. The union between the titanium dental implant and living bone tissue is called osseointegration.

Implant treatment is a comfortable, durable and reliable application. Dentures made on implants replace real teeth and create a natural structure. While missing teeth are replaced, healthy teeth are left untouched. They are much longer lasting than all dentures. Thanks to the confidence it gives, it will also eliminate the negative psychological effects of missing teeth.

Studies to create a safe implant have been ongoing since the early 1800s. Today, there are implants on the market that are very close to perfection and have 35-40 years of clinical follow-up. You can find more detailed information on this subject below.

Implant screws are structures that have a specific thickness and width. For this reason, the jawbone in the area where the implant is planned to be placed must have a height and width that will accept this implant screw. The quality of the existing bone is one of the factors affecting the success of the implant. In addition, the gums must be completely healthy before the treatment and as long as the implant remains in the mouth. As long as the patient's general health condition is good, there is no upper age limit that would prevent implant application. Implants can be applied to anyone who is in good general health. However, it may not be preferred to apply it to very young patients whose bone development is not completed.

Implants are made of substances that do not have any side effects for the organism and have been subjected to intensive research for years. These substances are substances that have never been part of a living organism. It is not possible for the body to produce antigens against them and reject them as in heart and kidney transplants.

Dental Implant Application Stages
Examination and treatment planning
Dental implants are planned specifically for each individual. First of all, the remaining teeth, soft tissues and jaw bones are examined. An x-ray (panoramic, tomography) of the jawbone is taken and the amount of existing bone is determined. Implant application is planned by evaluating the general health status of the individual.

Placement of the Dental Implant:
All implants are placed under local anesthesia, and you can return home alone after the operation is completed. There is no pain during this procedure. After the procedure, painkillers and ice are applied. There is no pain after the procedure, but slight swelling may occur for 2-3 days. The procedure takes about 30-90 minutes, depending on the type and number of implants placed, and is often no more difficult than a tooth extraction.

Depending on the condition of the bone where the implant will be placed, placement can be done in one or two stages. In the one-stage application, a healing piece that will remain in the mouth is attached to the implant and soft tissue is stitched around it. In the two-stage application, no part is attached to the implant; the tissue is sewn to completely cover the implant. In these cases, after the recovery period, the tissues on the implant are removed under local anesthesia and prosthesis preparations begin.

Waiting Time - Prosthetic preparations:
After the dental implant is placed in the jawbone, there is a waiting period of 2-6 months, depending on the condition of the bone. During this period, a connection (osseointegration) is formed between the bone tissue and the implant. Permanent prostheses are prepared after this waiting period. Prosthesis preparation is completed in approximately 2-4 weeks.

In order to ensure complete osseointegration of implants with the bone, the loads on the implant should be minimized during the first 2-3 months. Your doctor will not leave you toothless by making a temporary prosthesis suitable for you during this recovery period. Then, the permanent teeth will be mounted on your implants and the treatment will be finalized.

Prostheses to be made on implants can be of different types depending on the characteristics of the case. These can be removed by the patient for easy cleaning, or they can be planned to be removed by the dentist. Both plans have advantages and disadvantages, and your doctor will explain the design that is suitable for you before your treatment begins.

Implant treatment is a treatment method that improves the quality of life of patients and makes them happy, if it is done properly and in correctly selected cases. The complexity of the implant placement process varies depending on the patient's oral condition and needs. A survey conducted after implant placement in 350 patients revealed that the patients were satisfied with the investment they made and would gladly do it again if necessary.

Since we believe that patients in our country, as well as all over the world, should benefit from such a successful treatment method, we welcome your applications to obtain information about implant treatment.
